MAKING AN APPOINTMENT
Except in emergencies, all consultations are made by appointment. Appointments are made via a central computer system and can be made between 0830hrs and 1700hours Mondays to Fridays. Our patients’ records are computerised and accessible from each of the Surgery buildings.
We operate a ‘book on the day’ appointment system. We will try to offer you an appointment that will meet your requirements in choice of doctor and location. There will be times, however, when the only appointment available will be with a doctor other than your regular doctor and at a different building. A small number of appointments can be booked up to 7 days in advance in order to facilitate patients who have to work or have transportation needs, but please advise the receptionist if this applies.
Our practice nursing team appointments may be booked in advance. Routine checks for blood pressure, contraceptive pills and HRT etc., can be booked with a practice nurse.
Please let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment.
TELEPHONE ADVICE
The doctors are usually available to give advice by telephone after morning surgery at around 11.30am
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
If you are on regular medication and your doctor feels that your medication can be repeated without you being seen each time, you will be given a repeat prescription. The ‘tear off’ portion may be taken or sent to the surgery where your usual doctor is based. Please allow 2 working days (discounting Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays) before collection.
Alternatively, we can post your prescription back to you if a stamped addressed envelope is provided, or you may request that your local chemist collects your prescription on your behalf. In order to avoid errors, prescription requests are not taken over the telephone.
